Company Overview

Umtongata Rail & Civils was established in 2019 as 100% black owned and managed business to add value to the overall Railway and Water Engineering sectors through mantainance and construction of affordable waste water treatment works, rolling stock and permanent way systems with special attention to safety features during design and construction.
The current Managing Director of Umtongata Rail and Civils established in 2004 Manqina Gxowa (MG) Construction which has since been converted to Umtongata Rail and Civils. MG Construction over 15 years acquired significant experience within the Railway Infrastructure Maintenance and Water Engineering sectors. MG was one of the first black owned businesses to operate the railway track maintenance machinery. The Executive team possesses more than 60 years of combined experience in Waste Water Systems, Railways Systems Management, and Railway Safety Engineering.
